SENIOR PAYROLL OFFICER 

 

An exciting opportunity for an experienced and detail oriented Senior Payroll Officer to join the dynamic Finance team at The Shoe Group Support Centre on a fulltime basis.

This is a key role where you’ll play an essential part in assisting to ensure the smooth and accurate delivery of payroll across the business, while contributing to a supportive, collaborative, and people-focused culture.

 

About the Role

As the Senior Payroll Officer, you will work closely with the Payroll Team Leader to assist with the management of the end-to-end payroll function for the business. Your focus will be on ensuring all team members are paid accurately and on time, while delivering exceptional customer service with every interaction.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong attention to detail, and enjoys building trusted relationships across multiple departments

.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assisting with the management of the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Oversee time & attendance data in a roster-based environment.
  • Upload bank files for payroll, taxation, and superannuation.
  • Administer state-based payroll tax legislation and long service leave calculations.
  • Interpret awards and generate employment agreements.
  • Collaborate with the Payroll Team Leader to coach and support the Payroll Officer.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all team members.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce manual work.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality and compliance with company policies.

What We’re Looking For

  • Demonstrated experience in payroll, including end-to-end processing.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation, and superannuation.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience using Dayforce would be desirable but not essential
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong relationship building and communication abilities.
  • A proactive, collaborative, and customer focused approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications are desirable.
