VIC State Manager

 

As the VIC State Manager at Spendless, you will lead the performance of our Victorian store network, partnering closely with your Area Managers to drive sales, operational excellence and team engagement across the state.

Reporting to the Head of Retail, you will be responsible for delivering the retail strategy across Victoria, building capability within your leadership team and ensuring every store consistently delivers an outstanding customer experience while achieving commercial results.

 

About You

You are an experienced retail leader who knows how to lead leaders. You balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational leadership, using data, coaching and accountability to drive performance.

You are passionate about developing people, creating high-performing teams and building a culture where leaders are empowered to deliver results.

This opportunity is ideally suited to an experienced State Manager or a high-performing Senior Area Manager ready to take the next step into state leadership.

 

What We're Looking For

- Demonstrated experience leading large multi-site retail operations.
- Proven ability to coach, develop and inspire Area Managers.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse performance and identify growth opportunities.
- Exceptional leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities across a geographically dispersed network.
- Resilient, adaptable and comfortable leading through change.
- A passion for developing people and building high-performing teams.


Key Responsibilities

- Lead, coach and develop the Victorian Area Management team to deliver outstanding commercial and operational results.
- Drive sales growth, wage productivity and key performance indicators across the Victorian store network.
- Ensure consistent execution of company strategy, retail standards and operational initiatives.
- Build a culture of accountability, engagement and continuous improvement across the state.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, customer experience and operational efficiency.
- Partner with the Head of Retail and Support Centre teams to deliver strategic business priorities.
- Support succession planning by identifying and developing future retail leaders.
- Lead change initiatives and ensure successful implementation across the Victorian network.
